Pink Elephant Session with Emily Herr – Mural Workshop & Creative Process

Join AIGA Richmond at the Veil Brewing for a great night of learning about the art of murals from local muralist, EMILY HERR! After Emily gives a talk about design and execution of murals and her creative process, we will be collectively painting Emily’s mobile studio that will be parked at the Veil! Each attendee will also be able to take home a print of one of Emily’s murals. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to learn about mural design from a local expert!

Painting murals is an excuse for Emily to explore new settings for illustrative visual art, work closely with an ever-changing variety of people, and push her physical and creative limits. As part of her creative practice she travels as often as possible to seek new landscapes and visual paradigms, from Chilé to Iceland, from Qatar to California. Self-employed since graduation from VCU, she pursues continuing education in the form of workshops across the US and abroad, as well as initiating ambitious projects that guide the shape of her client work – most recently designing and building a mobile artist studio, and then launching a traveling mural project called “Girls! Girls! Girls!” to better represent women in public art.
