Description The Video Editor works collaboratively in telling strategic and brand-aligned stories through the editing process. From concept to production, they transform raw material into high-quality, creative, and engaging final product. They produce short and long-term content and assist in filming video and recording audio.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work within University brand guidelines to produce videos for the University’s communication channels utilizing: effective storytelling techniques cuts, splices, transitions, and titles sound effects and audio tracks motion graphic animation color correction and enhancement creative collaboration Update/edit video content in response to feedback from University Communications colleagues and campus partners as requested Manage, organize, and maintain production files and video libraries Filming video and recording audio

Specific Skills Knowledge, skills, and ability:
Strong knowledge and experience with video editing software, including Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and Avid Media Composer Proficient in the use of animation and graphic software including Adobe After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite Understanding of color grading, audio mixing, and video output formats A keen eye, attention to detail, and artistic ability Ability to work from storyboards Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to final delivery by meeting deadlines Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills that allow collaboration across teams Excellent time management skills Critical thinking and creative problem-solving talents Proven experience in video production, scripting, and lighting is preferred.

If you fit this description, Cooperative Living magazine is looking for you.
We are a monthly print magazine representing readers across Virginia and Maryland. The majority of our readers belong to one of the 16 electric cooperatives of the Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives. We seek a Creative Services Coordinator who can use design software to create digital layouts for print publication and collaborate with our member cooperatives to develop and finalize copy they provide us for publication.
This individual will collaborate closely with our Creative Services Director to ensure the seamless creation and integration of externally and internally created pages for each issue of Cooperative Living. They will attend weekly editorial meetings and produce content for the internally generated pages, including conducting field interviews and taking essential photographs for features assigned by the Executive Editor.
This individual will also handle administrative duties related to the magazine’s daily operation. Additionally, they will ensure that external editorial deadlines are met and assist the Deputy Editor with the website and social media platforms as needed.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT 1. This position is in-office in Glen Allen, VA with flexibility for remote work as appropriate. 2. This position requires flexibility to travel and to attend frequent meetings and events during non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and mealtimes. 3. This employee must maintain a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or graphic design is preferred. 2. Some years of cooperative experience is a plus. 3. Ability to work in a standard office work environment. 4. Some non-overnight travel is required in this position.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED:
1. A mastery of Associated Press (AP) Style. 2. Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud software platforms. 3. Strong writing, editing, proofreading and digital photography skills. 4. Strong planning and organizational skills. 5. A strong aesthetic sense. 6. Strong online skills for research purposes. 7. Ability to work under deadline pressure and lead a project from concept to print. 8. Basic math, reasoning, and public relations skills.
