It’s getting close to that time of year again: the joy, the cheer, the rabid hordes of deal-craving shoppers. Why not avoid all that mess and support local Richmond makers at the same time? And if you are a maker, this is a perfect chance to sell some of your fantastic work.
AIGA Richmond is setting up tables at the VCU Depot on December 3rd for a pop-up market open to all designers, makers, hackers, illustrators, and crafty folks. The Makers Mart will be open from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016. This time coincides with the annual Dominion Christmas Parade, so there are sure to be plenty of people looking to buy your paintings, illustrations, crafts, woodwork and anything else that our creative community can think up.
Tables are $20 for a five foot space including a 3’x2’ table or $40 for a ten foot space including an 8’ table. Space is limited and will be reserved on a first come, first served basis, so don’t wait, reserve your spot today.
AIGA is also looking for local makers who are interested in providing working, ideally hands-on, demonstrations while the event is going on. If you are interested in this, please contact AIGA at president@richmond.aiga.org.
The Depot building is located at 814 West Broad—right at the heart of the parade route—and works as a mixed use studio space and gallery and is home to Alchemy Coffee. Set up time will be at 8:45am on December 3rd. Break down time will be at 1:15pm that same day and participants are encouraged to be out of the space by 2pm.
More information will be provided to registered makers as the event approaches. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact AIGA Richmond at president@richmond.aiga.org.
