The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design: Upcoming Events
Dear Branch Friends and Supporters,

So much is happening at The Branch in the coming months! I hope all of you will consider joining us for our Brunch at The Branch on April 17th. It is our signature event of the spring season, and a wonderful celebration of everything The Branch is about with our Virginia by Design Awards. In March we are exploring ceramic design, opening a new field for you. And if you have never experienced music at The Branch, sign up now for the May performance of Jefferson Baroque. Music resonates through this space in a beautiful and unique way that you have to experience to appreciate!

See you soon at The Branch!

“Inner Lives: Cinerary Jars by Julian Stair and Rob Barnard”
March 3 – 27, 2020

The subject of the exhibition is cinerary jars, but it is about the inner life of human beings. Julian Stair and Rob Barnard occupy a rather unique position in the ceramics field: not only are they makers, but also writers who have argued in countless articles about pottery’s ability to simultaneously operate on numerous levels to connect with our inner lives. They have sought in their work to restore the connection between works of art and the ordinary events, burdens, and suffering that make up the human experience.
