STUDIO TWO THREE PRESENTS
THE RICHMOND BOOK ART FAIR:
POWER OF THE PRESS
Storytelling is the lens through which reflect on our shared humanity and build community. The Richmond Book Art Fair, invites the public to tell their stories, connect with independent writers and bookmakers and engage with the most pressing issues in our community. This is the first of what will be an annual event, comprised of a week of community workshops on writing, storytelling, independent publishing, and bookmaking; panel discussions; and storytelling events.
The Richmond Book Art Fair culminates in a day-long fair featuring artists’ book makers, zine makers, and independent publishers. The theme of the 2019 Richmond Book Art Fair is Power of the Press, highlighting the power of the book, printing and publishing to tell previously untold narratives and highlight marginalized voices in our community. The role of the press is at the forefront of our civic dialogue, and this event empowers community members to harness the power of the press and highlight the capacity of individual citizens to create and process media.
