Charles M. Robinson exhibition has been extended through February
 
Dear Branch Friends and Supporters,
 
We are happy to announce that the Charles M. Robinson exhibition has been extended through February. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely come in to learn about this important piece of the history of Richmond architecture. The exhibition explores the life and works of one of Virginia’s most prolific architects and features architectural renderings, photographs, and ephemera pertaining to the life and works of the architect Charles M. Robinson, whose career spanned from 1889 to 1932.

January Museum Tours
 
 
Museum tours feature the first and second floors of The Branch Museum and include historical information about the family as well as architectural elements specific to the Branch House. We will also discuss the exhibitions currently on view. Tours last about 60 minutes.

Tours of the Branch House and the Branch Museum are now available twice per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m.
 
 
2020 Virginia By Design Awards – Deadline has been extended to January 31st
 
The Virginia by Design Awards recognize the best efforts of designers or visionaries who have made creating, preserving, and enhancing design in Virginia a notable endeavor. They tell stories about The Commonwealth and its people, and elevate the power of design for the public good. The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design intends to acknowledge excellence in design, visionary thinking, and patronage that influence social change in our communities throughout Virginia.
Nominations are accepted for four awards, determined by jury
 
 
 
Shirt pickup is March 21 from 11 am-2 pm. Purchasers are eligible for a complimentary tour of the Branch House. 
 
DesignVA and the Monument 10k
 
DesignVA group is assembling a run team for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K to help bring awareness to efforts supporting The Branch Museum. Located in a 100 year old English Tudor style mansion at 2501 Monument Avenue, our Branch is in much need of repair and continuous maintenance that can only funded through donations.
 
If you would like to join the run team to help bring awareness to the cause please donate $25 and receive your free red microfiber run team shirt.

Rescheduled – Michael Spencer Gallery Talk
Charles M. Robinson: A Higher Calling
Thursday, February 13th
6:00 p.m.
 
Michael Spencer, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Historic Preservation, will lead a Gallery Talk focused on Charles M. Robinson’s designs for institutions of higher education in Virginia. Robinson’s architecture is a prominent feature of many Virginia campuses, among them: University of Mary Washington (originally the Fredericksburg Normal School for Women); The College of William & Mary; Virginia State University; James Madison University; and Radford University.
