Charlottesville is many things to many people: Jefferson-town, home of the Hoos, the nation’s fastest-growing tech hub, and now? Virginia’s design destination.
For three years, hundreds of the commonwealth’s designers have convened in Cville for a week of mixing, learning, sharing, and showing off. The Charlottesville Design Week, which is
almost completely free to attend, has two simple goals:
- Help Virginia’s designers develop a strong sense of community
- Convince the general public that good design is worth a damn
Whether you push pixels, press ink, set type, build environments, sew dresses, or do basically anything else design-related, you will feel right at home during our little festival.
How many designers do you know?
And i mean really know. 5? 10? If you’re like most people in Virginia, you probably know only a handful of fellow creatives.
It seems that becoming a hermit is an occupational hazard: It’s hard to meet people when you’re pushing pixels, measuring cmyk levels, and cropping photos.
Well… That all changes this October.
The Charlottesville Design Week is all about community. More specifically, it’s all about helping designers like you find one. So, if you want to know more people like yourself, you’ve come to the right place.
